Cooperations by geographical areas
CHILE
This evolution is linked to the launch of the ECOS programme, which financed a project linking INRIA and INSERM in France with the University of Chile. This project works on the interactions between the cardiac and the respiratory rythm.
The European Community programme ALAMED also financed a long stay at INRIA of a Chilean researcher in mathematical programming.
INRIA cooperates mainly with the University of Chile (programming, engineering science...). Another partner is the Catholic University of Chile (numerical probabilistic methods). Of particular interest is the contact established with the most important Chilean corporation, the copper producer CODELCO, who is interested in the optimisation of industrial processes. Another active collaboration is that with the high-tech company AUTOMIND (a start-up of the University of Chile). These will result in the shared patenting of new software on multivariate analysis and artificial intelligence.
